EXCITING NEWS FOR REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS!
WEF 8 January 2015
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) - a new way to get your medicines and appliances
The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is an NHS service. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines or appliances from.
If you collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.

DR VALERIE SPRAGUE
Patients registered with Dr Sprague will be aware that she has been unwell for some time. It is not possible to provide a return to work schedule at present but on behalf of both the Medical Centre staff and patients, we would like to say that we are thinking of her and send our good wishes.
During her absence the Practice will continue to provide cover by employing Locum doctors. Patients who are registered with Dr Sprague may consult with any of the doctors at the Surgery whilst she is away as they share full access to patients records.
DR DAVID GAULD
It is with great regret that we have to announce that Dr Gauld left the Practice at the end of December 2014.. David joined the Medical Centre as a GP Partner in 1994 and has been a valued member of our Team. He will be sorely missed by both patients and staff alike.
On behalf of everyone, we would like to wish David ‘good luck’ for the future and hope that he will now have a little more time to enjoy various leisure activities which have been ‘on the back burner’ for far too long!
Every Good Wish from us all, David.
Patients who were registered with Dr Gauld will be reallocated to the remaining Partners
A FAREWELL FROM DR DAVID GAULD
"I'm sorry to have left the Burnham & Berrow Medical Centre after nearly 21 years.
The pressure of an unwell wife, my own health and the unrealistic expectations on the front line have forced my hand. I have met woderful people over that time and continue to learn the complexities of the job that General Practice is. I leave behind committed and diligent group of staff who do thier utmost every day. The press and politicians continue to denigrate Primary Care, repeatedly exaggerating the salaries and errors. I remian firmly of the opinion that good quality Primary Care is vital for the survival of the NHS but has now entered perilous territory. There is a lot for the population to lose.
I would urge you to understand that the team at BBMC do all have your best interest at heart. They want to provide high quality care. They are not doing their jobs to earn extravagant salaries as purported in some popular press. The GP's will often work 12 hour days with no proper breaks. You need to respect them to look after you.
It has been a pleasure knowing many of you over the last two decades and I wish you all good health and happiness."
Dr Hannah J McHugh (Joey)
Burnham and Berrow Medical Centre Doctors and staff are pleased to announce that Dr Joey McHugh joined the Surgery with effect from 26 August 2014.
We are extremely lucky to have Dr McHugh joining us as a full time GP partner and we would like to offer her a warm welcome to the Surgery.
Patients previously registered with Dr Sally Holl will now be registered with Dr McHugh.
